Spring Break Internship 2017: Day 4

While, we didn't get the opportunity to go to the clinic on Friday due to a confusion. I did managed to get some of the formatting done for our research poster. I received the standard template everyone is using to represent our school from Bridge to Baccalaureate (B2B) Project Manager Dorothy Wright. Here at EEG Brainwaves we like to go off the beaten path and create something original like our past project leaders done for us. With our abstract completed and ready for submission, we turn our attention to getting the data recordings we have analyzed by an company called QEEG Pro who has agreed to help us with an recommendation from our mentor Jackie.  

This is our current meeting times for the Spring 2017 semester. I posted my availability so we have our readings done efficiently as possible.   

We are at the next phase of our research and will be working with a company is able to remove artifacts (random influences) in our data.

On the Friday March 17th I had the opportunity to go to Princeton University for a Physics Conference with other Physics professor from Bergen.

Spring Break Internship 2017: Day 3

With tomorrow being the last day of our Spring Break Internship we planned to meet with our mentor Jackie De Vries from the Crossroad Center. Next phase of our research will be collecting all the EEG readings to have them analyzed. Then, we're heading to the externship part of our research with Crossroad Centers in Ridgewood, NJ. After we speak to Jackie whose our liaison between international researchers and us. We'll be contacting researchers from the Netherlands who will do our Quantitative Analysis for no price at all due to our relationship with Jackie. Plus, they have equipment and software that's more sophisticated than our own. So, we had to take advantage of this amazing opportunity!!!

Spring Break Internship 2017: Day 2

With Day 2 underway both Erika and I went under wraps for our first EEG readings. Yariel and Carmel done their post readings on Monday and completed their part of our research. With the Nor'easter blizzard closing the school yesterday, we resumed as normal today.

 Dan and Nicolette research so intently for an answer to our Quantitative Analysis issues. They are waiting for a response from our mentor Jackie at Crossroad Center in Ridgewood, NJ.

Erika and I are very serious when doing our EEG. You can drop her in the pool with her eyes closed and her brainwaves will still be constant. She has a high level of an Anxiety but her EEG readings says otherwise. lol

We decided to keep two parts of this poster which includes the different types of brainwaves and EEG extraction method. Since, we didn't get the chance to use our OpenBCI equipment for our research, the process would be the same as our old research with Howard Gardener's.

Spring Break Internship 2017: Day 1

We're back again you guys!!!! Sorry for the long break since our last posting during the Winternship in January. This spring we're continuing what we started in doing research that focuses on Anxiety that uses 2 controls as the stimuli. Then, we're viewing the exposure from our both the pre and post EEG readings in conjunction with the GAD-7 self administering survey. Which we got the okay from the school's Psychology Department. 

Well, today is the first day of our Spring Break Internship and we have our new members Yariel and Carmel joining us.

Carmel is assembling our BIOPAC equipment because our OpenBCI wasn't working at the time we thought of our research project.

I think it's necessary to be an active participant in your learning. I want my members to see the actual use of what we're doing. Hands-on experience is most important when you're doing research that requires many different skill sets. As, project leader I look forward to giving new members the tools I learned.
